California Prop 65
WARNING: This product can expose you to Bisphenol A (BPA), which is known to the state of California to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm. www.p65warnings.ca.gov
What does this warning even mean?
California's Prop 65 requires us to post this warning because our frames contain trace amounts of bisphenol-a (BPA), a chemical used in the production of all hard plastics. BPA mimics the hormone estrogen, and studies show that high exposure to BPA can be harmful to pregnant mothers and young children. BPA is of most concern in baby bottles and food containers, where it comes in direct contact with food. For sunglasses, in order to exceed the FDA's safe daily exposure threshold, an average adult would have to completely eat at least three pairs of sunglasses in a single day.
